Learning in Senior High Schools amidst Covid19 pandemic
A micro project conducted by HAYTAFORD which covers data gathering related to awareness level, availability or otherwise of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and general readiness and persistence through covicd19 pandemic of selected senior High Schools in Upper West, Upper East and Savannah Regions. The outcomes feed into a national campaign. A regional level radio programmes are organised to deepen awareness and preparedness around covid19 and other crisis that may impact learning
Promoting gender responsive and sustainable support to GPEG
HAYTAFORD, supported by NNED and GIZ carried out activities under a project dubbed “Promoting Gender Responsiveness and Sustainable Support to the Ghana Partnership for Education Grant (PROGRESS - GPEG). The project focused on strengthening the capacity and attitude of education managers in managing resources particularly GPEG. The project created awareness on the need to prioritize girls' education, support needy girls and gender responsive school facilities. It was implemented in 3 districts namely Nadowli-Kaleo, Daffiamah-Bussie-Issah and Wa East
Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Education
Promoting Transparency and Accountability in Education (PTAE), an 18 month implemented by HAYTAFORD and NNED and funded by USAID. The project promoted transparency and accountability about capitation grant and GPEG. Key achievements included increased adherence to efficient utilization and management of Education resources in forty (40) communities and their schools in Upper West Region. The beneficiary Districts in the Upper West region include: Wa Municipal, Wa West, Jirapa, Lawra and Nandom Districts.
Improving learning outcomes for children through accountable School Report Card (SRC) process October, 2014 to June, 2015
One year project funded by UNICEF that improved the quality of basic education through the report cards system in selected basic schools in Wa East District. The project built the capacity of SMC/PTA and their district coalitions as well as DEOC members. These, were then supported to engage with schools to implement School Report Card meeting the minimum standards. SMC/PTA executives were sensitized and trained on SRC, importance of education and role of SMC/PTA in SRC and also how engage with schools to implement School Report Card
